Man has always been looking for answers about the universe from his unstoppable desire to conquer the abyss of the sky. Unexpectedly, these answers always lay in the human being, in understanding the self and the world that people built; a world that supports the human development and a better life.
We have always been looking for a better world, which is why we tried to change the form of social organization, the traditions, the gods we pray to, and so on. However, it was always the fact and then the understanding. Hence the way our society works- we always try to understand reality and the present through the prism of the past; we always do things and only after we try to understand the complex phenomena we trigger.
Besides this method of working and thinking, the fact that we are all different, we have different life experiences, makes us see in different ways the daily reality. In other words, we understand things through the prism of different sets of ideas that we have stubbornly called social theories. Although complex in structure and continuously changing, these theories give us some stability in thinking, continuity in research and the ability to align knowledge in a logical chain.
With this in mind, the contemporary researchers tried to understand and explain the new European phenomenon, namely the new model of social organization in Europe after the Second World War. Most authors preferred to embrace the integration theories (allusively called theories if considering that they are by no means philosophies of life and general filters capable of describing a social reality, lacking a special methodology, epistemology, a perspective over reality, etc.). Yet, they succeeded to analyze locally, in puzzle pieces parts of the European daily life.
With the intention of bringing a more complex and clear approach to the European social reality I started my journey of writing a new book entitled “The new social reality of the Europeans: A constructivist view over Europeanization”. I understood that a big picture of the new European social reality would come to the aid of the social, political and European sciences and help the further development of new research on related subjects.

One of the most challenging aspects of this research was to find a suitable theoretical approach, which is why I focus the first part of this book on understanding social theories, their structure and the ideas they were grounded on so that I can clearly differentiate a perspective from the other. This aspect is meant to help researchers at the beginning of the road, or those in a dilemma, to understand and choose a social theory for their research. In the same way, this part of the book helps those who are thirsty for knowledge to absorb new ways of thinking.
Of a great value, in this part of the book you will find discussions and ideas of social theories focusing on explaining in a logical way the human behavior and various concepts present in our daily discourse, such as “European integration”, “EU membership”. “Europeanization” “Globalization”, “modernization”, “Americanization” and others.
